Questions people ask
- Where do I find my closing costs?
- Your lender must give you a Loan Estimate after you apply, and a Closing Disclosure before closing. Attorneys, inspectors and title companies give their own quotes.
- Can closing costs be negotiated?
- Some can. Compare quotes for services you are allowed to shop for, such as title insurance and inspections, and ask the lender about its fees.
- Why is there no percentage estimate here?
- Closing costs vary a lot by loan, price, town and property type. Real quotes are more useful than a guess.
